MaBelle introduces us to the future.
Her name, like the names of many characters is a function of her job.
One might say that she reflects the concept that our self image is tied up in our self worth derived from our occupation.
We’d like to think of this as a modern phenomenon, but, in reality division of labor is a natural process. And in the animal world, you are what you are based on the job you do for your “hive.”
As such, names are pliable. After all, names are only important for those with internal root systems. Names therefore are less important to those who desire to root their existence within the corporation. As such it shouldn’t bother you to blend “your” name into the “Culture” of the organization, now will it?
